Summary: The VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) Project Manager’s primary objective is to support BeLit VDC initiatives, and model-based project management, process workflows, and construction technology deployment for all BeLit business units.

Primary Duties:

  • Manage BeLit VDC estimating projects
  • Manage BeLit VDC coordination staff
  • Assist with BeLit VDC strategy to extract estimating data from BIM Models
  • Manage on-site construction material variance orders and determine causes for material shortage/overages
  • Prepare estimating proposals and participate in discovery interviews with clients
  • Oversee each project, to ensure each project is utilizing the Project VDC Execution Plans and adhering to project contractual requirements
  • Work with BeLit Data Analyst on KPI’s and metrics to evaluate and assess value, impact, ROI of established VDC initiatives
  • Work with Software Development team to help drive future BeLit VDC solutions
  • Assist in strategic business initiatives roadmap development
  • Work with internal and external partners to establish BIM/VDC specifications and execution strategy

Knowledge:

  • High school diploma and/or Construction Management Degree or equivalent years of experience in component manufacturing or estimating.
  • Previous management experience, managing one or more employees
  • 5+ Years of Experience in Single and/or Multifamily Residential Construction
  • 3+ years’ experience in one or more of the following applications:
    • CAD, Revit, Engineered Floor Framing, Roof Truss or Wall Panel Software
  • Extensive knowledge of building material sizes and applications
  • Strong Knowledge of estimating formulas
  • Structural Component Design considered a plus
  • Lumber Supply industry experience considered a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

 Skills and abilities:

  • Ability to manage employees in person as well as remote
  • High level of comprehension in construction documentation
  • High level of knowledge in residential framing techniques
  • Ability to QC estimating measurement data from plans
  • Must have strong self-teaching skills
  • Must have a high level of interest in estimating and construction
  • Proficient in the use of the English language in reading, writing, and speaking
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and public

Work Environment/Physical Demands: General Office Environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
